Job summary

New investment has enabled the creation of an innovative and forward thinking, relationship-focussed and trauma-informed approach to the integration of specialist clinical skills with good quality family intervention. The CAMHS clinical team, comprised of mental health professionals including clinical psychology and child and adolescent psychotherapy, will be fully embedded within the family intervention service of children's social care. The aim is to ensure timely access to training, consultation, supervision and intervention while simultaneously promoting trauma-informed practice and supporting healthy relationships within our Tameside families.

Main duties of the job

Role Summary:

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our new and innovative attachment and trauma focussed team, a specialist CAMHS team embedded within the Tameside's Family Intervention Service in children's social care.

The key role of the post holder will be to support staff across all levels of the family intervention service in their work with children, young people and their families. Aims will include raising awareness of ACE's and the impact of relational trauma, offering training, consultation and supervision. The post holder will also provide direct child psychotherapy assessment and treatment for young people and their families. The team will maintain close links with the CAMH service, and as such there will be an opportunity to develop and maintain core skills including assessment and management of risk and the supervision of other staff, for example.

Tameside and Glossop CAMHS (CAMHS T&G) is a CAMH service based in Stalybridge, Tameside. We are a multidisciplinary team providing a mental health service to children, young people and their families. The service has well-established links with our partner agencies including education, children's social care and the third sector and is striving to fully align to the Thrive approach to delivering mental health services. We are committed to supporting our staff in their development with access to CPD opportunities, a robust clinical and management supervision structure, and access to a recently developed in-house training programme covering key areas of clinical practice. CAMHS T&G is also home to the Early Attachment Service which is a nationally recognised, specialist parent-infant mental health and under 5 service.
