Highly Specialised Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist 0.5WTE
We are looking to recruit a specialist Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist with an interest in supporting families experiencing difficulties with the parent-infant relationship. The post will be based in the Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale Early Attachment Service and provide therapeutic support to families from conception to age 2. The post holder will have experience assessing and offering interventions around relationship difficulties, managing risk and working in a community setting. In addition to therapeutic work, the service offers training, consultation and supervision to the local workforce, including the adult mental health, health visiting, voluntary sector (Dad Matter's and Homestart), maternity, social care and children's centres.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will work as a highly specialist psychotherapist developing and implementing a community based therapeutic service to parents to be, infants, children and their families with a particular focus on under 2's, early intervention, the prevention of high risk and vulnerable families. They will provide assessment and treatment of parents/carers and infants and their families grounded in the principles and techniques of psychoanalytic psychotherapy.
The training and strategic development aspect of the role involves acting as a specialist resource and contributing to multi-agency training of relevant professionals across HMR. The post holder will be expected to offer consultation and clinical supervision to professional colleagues.

- Delivery of Under 2s psychotherapy service provision within the parameters of child and adolescent mental health, in a multiagency
- To provide specialist psychoanalytic psychotherapy assessment for Under 2s who may be experiencing severe, highly complex and persistent mental health difficulties and to make decisions about treatment options taking into account relevant evidence based research, theory, practice and highly complex factors concerning historical and developmental processes.
