This is an exciting time to come and work for Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust as we have received investment from the Living Well transformation model for Older People's Services in Oldham. We are delighted to be able to offer three new clinical posts as part of the development of Older Peoples Liaison Mental Health Services. The new funding will create the following permanent full-time posts:
o Band 8b Principal Clinical Psychologist
o Band 6 Occupational Therapist
o Band 5 Assistant Psychologist
You will be part of an already established and extremely experienced team and contribute to the development of a dynamic service which will offer a range of specialist interventions to older people presenting with mental health problems. The team is closely linked with Older Adult Services in both Primary Care and Specialist services across local authority and the NHS.
We are looking for experienced, enthusiastic and caring practitioners who are passionate about improving mental health outcomes Older People. This is a great opportunity to be involved in the forefront of shaping the service and offers the successful candidates the opportunity to work in a supportive service with opportunities for development, with CPD, training and supervision.
Main duties of the job
To assist in the delivery of psychologically minded work in the Older People's PCN.The post holder will work under the supervision of a qualified Clinical Psychologistand will be based with the team working independently under their direction.o The post holder will be expected to concentrate for long periods of time in theperformance of assessments as well as writing up the results.o The post will be involved in the delivery of psychological interventions, supportingthe recommendations identified within clinical formulations drawn up for client, andthe sharing of psychological thinking, skills and knowledge with the wider MDT.o The post holder may be required to work with clients who are highly distressed oranxious and will experience sensitive situations on a weekly basis. To support andenhance the professional psychological care of older people within the PrimaryCare Network Service. Providing psychological assessment including completinga range of psychological measures.o Working independently to a plan agreed with a qualified Clinical Psychologist, fromprimary to community care pathways.o To work independently to the agreed operational objectives that are set andremotely assessed at agreed intervals by the Line Manager.o To assist in clinically related administration, conduct of audits and projects,collection of statistics, development of audit and/or research projects, teaching andproject work.

To undertake protocol based psychological assessments of older people, applying psychometric and neuropsychological assessments, self-report measures, direct and indirect structured observations, and semi-structured interviews. To assist in the formulation and delivery of therapeutic interventions involving the treatment or management of a clients problems under the supervision of a qualified Clinical Psychologist as outlined in the clients care plan. To assist in the co-ordination and running of therapeutic and wellbeing groups. To work with a range of multi-disciplinary staff from the Community under clinical supervision, assess needs and formulate action plans. To assist in the development of a psychologically based framework of understanding and care to the benefit of all clients of the service across all settings in which care takes place. To assist in the development of service delivery. To attend and contribute to multi-disciplinary meetings, including liaison with MDTs as directed. To participate in clinical audit as directed by the Team Manager. To work within the guidelines for Assistant Psychologists recommended by the British Psychological Societys Division of Clinical Psychology. To receive regular line management and clinical supervision. To participate as a team member of the Psychology Service. To attend relevant team and service meetings.
