Main duties of the job
Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to make full time appointment for a SAS doctor to work in the well-established Home treatment team in Oldham
This is a fixed term for 2 months, from 18/12/2023 to 18/02/2024.
The appointee will have a senior role working under consultant supervision in the delivering and the developments of service in line with Department of Health guidelines.

Speciality Doctor Home Treatment Team (HTT), Oldham.
The Oldham Home Treatment Team (HTT) is based on the ground floor in the Parklands building at The Royal Oldham Hospital.
The post-holder will be based with the rest of the team and provide the senior medical input to the team. This role is supported by a full-time consultant psychiatrist who runs their own outpatient clinics and offers clinical support and advice to the care coordinators around medical treatment, formulation of cases and developing appropriate treatment plans and will provide clinical and managerial supervision to the successful applicant.
This role is supported by a medical secretary, with three additional administration posts including a receptionist and two team administration assistants. This is in a well-resourced building with a reception area, clinical consultation rooms, a well-equipped physical health room, an occupational therapy kitchen resource and office space separate from patient facing areas. Being close to the centre of town it is easily accessible by public transport and has adequate car parking facilities.
The service works with patients aged 16 years to 65 years (can be older if under GA services). The post-holder will work closely with the team consultants. There are close working relationships with the Liaison Mental Health Services, GA Wards, CMHT, OPD Psychiatry, EIT and the Access Team in Oldham. Additionally we act to step down patients of Oldham from any GA admission unit (including the private sector) following their discharge from an admission if this was felt warranted and gatekept. .
The post holder will be expected to offer a senior level of support for the team with the consultants on HTT and also close working with the other members of the medical team and nursing staff/support workers. A certain amount of leadership is expected especially clinically in terms of medicines management, ensuring those in RED and supported daily, proactively linking in with team clinicians at times of clinical need. Escalation to senior practitioners and consultants for additional support is expected of the role.
You will continue to receive weekly supervision leave permitting from the relevant HTT Consultant (Dr Fernando) and additionally clinical supervision as and when required depending on need.
