The Education Programmes are mandatory throughout the Trust. This post offers an excellent experience in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.The Consultant body has a variety of special interests and there are many opportunities for the trainees to look into and further expand their knowledge and experience with discussion with their consultant. Areas of special interest include, amongst other: Forensic and Rehabilitation, Liaison, Community Psychiatry, Child & Adolescent Psychiatry including Inpatient CAMHS Services (Regional), New Ways of Working, Information Technology and Service Redesign. Main duties of the job
The Locum Specialty Doctor will be expected to accumulate their own out-patient load from new referrals and help out with known patients in out-patients, and pick up ongoing patient management through the community teams as appropriate.The Locum Specialty Doctor is expected to contribute to the bio psychosocial model of care with the other members of the multi-disciplinary team. This includes history taking, mental state examination of all patients and the physical examination of outpatients where appropriate. The treatments may be physical, pharmacological psychological and social as appropriate. There is a strong emphasis on the recovery model, and as such the trainee will be encouraged to formulate management plans accordingly.
