Job summary
We are delighted to be able to recruit to this new 8b clinical psychology post within Rochdale CAMHS, building on our continued ambition to deliver high quality, responsive and effective interventions for young people and families in our community. The post-holder will provide clinical leadership within our core CAMHS team for the delivery of psychological therapies for young people presenting with complex moderate to severe mental health difficulties. The post-holder will have oversight of pathways for mood and emotional disorders and emotional and behavioural dysregulation, driving forward a re-modelling of these pathways to align with i-thrive and to meet the changing needs of the service.
Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale CAMHS is a high-performing and dynamic child and adolescent mental health service, working closely with commissioners and with our partners in Children's Services, education and the VCSE sector to develop models of care within the principles of the i-thrive framework. CAMHS has a broad offer locally which includes our Early Attachment service, Mental Health Support Team (schools), #Thrive (emotional well-being service for children and families), and as a partner working within Our Place, an integrated multi-agency team supporting children and adolescents with complex needs on the edge of care or cared for. Clinical psychology is highly valued and integral to our core CAMHS provision.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will coordinate and lead on psychological therapies provision within core CAMHS particularly for young people presenting with moderate to severe mental health difficulties who require care for mood and emotional disorders and/or emotional and behavioural dysregulation. To be responsible for the overall management and development of these psychological therapies pathways within CAMHS, in line with evidence-based practice and NICE guidelines.
To provide highly developed specialist assessments of children and young people, and to undertake a range of highly specialist and complex psychological therapeutic interventions, drawing on a range of psychological models and employing a range of modalities.
To provide clinical supervision and consultation, and advise on psychological formulation and treatment for children and young people with complex needs.
To act as a lead specialist within the service alongside the consultant psychologist, and to propose and implement policy changes and service/ team/ pathway developments in collaboration with the wider management team, including workforce development to continue to strengthen our psychological therapies provision to meet future needs.
