We are looking to appoint a dynamic, forward thinking, and creative individual to join our Specialist Transformation Team. This is a key role working with the transformation team and wider services across the organisation providing effective and efficient project support.
The Project Support Officer will provide a crucial role in the development and delivery of the transformation programme across specialist services.The team has responsibility for overseeing and managing the systems andprocesses which will ensure successful delivery of the Trust strategic objectives. This will be achieved through applying programme management methodologies and risk management approaches to ensure that our Executive Directors, and ultimately the Trust Board, are assured of the progress of the agreed work programmes and that all risks and issues are managed appropriately.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will:
- Provide project management support for the programmes. This may involve supporting business case development, all planning activities, risk and issues management, monitoring and co-ordination of tasks, negotiation and conflict management.
- Ensure adherence to project governance standards, reporting and thedeployment of standard methodologies.
- Be a single point of contact for all transformation projects, and have an archive of information to allow real time reporting and information sharing.
- Be responsible for implementing and maintaining effective programme management systems which will enable good risk management, performance reporting, sharing of best practice, mapping and monitoring interdependencies and escalation of issues.
- Be the line manager for admin assistant (where relevant), including the full range of line management responsibilities.

The role requires excellent organisational and project support skills, an ability to communicate routine, sensitive, confidential and complex information to staff and managers at all levels within and outside the Trust and an ability to be proactive and take accountability and ownership of the Programme management systems and processes which will govern the transformation delivery programmes.
This role will support the Transformation Programme Manager and Programme Manager by coordinating and managing the systems and processes which will enable the delivery of the work associated with the Trusts strategic plan and transformation delivery programmes.
Working autonomously and proactively, the Project Support Officer will be required to provide project management support using project methodologies and strong administrative skills.
The post holders prime responsibility is to ensure that all of the systems and processes support the delivery programmes within the remit of the transformation programme, to deliver their agreed object
Track and maintain programme continuity:
- Using agreed programme management methodology, control and maintain changes to the transformation delivery programme plan, ensuring governance is adhered to and that reporting is actioned by delivery leads and programme sponsors
- Track and report on project portfolio performance, providing a real-time, comprehensive and prioritised view of all projects. Coordination of monthly highlight reports to Specialist Services Transformation Boards.
- Responsible for programme logistics
- To raise invoices and purchase orders relating to the programme
- Tracking leave requests for key members of the programme
- Work with the Transformation Programme Manager and programme manager to investigate the causes of any variance from target/plan
- Authorised signatory for small payments related to programme delivery
- Works with colleagues at all levels in the Trust, providing training and expertise in project and programme management tools and techniques, e.g. project planning and risk management to ensure programme delivery and spread of the importance of maintaining a systematic approach to project delivery.
