Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Learning Disability Student Nurses to join Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust (PCFT) Learning Disability Care Hub working alongside highly experienced multi-professional health care teams. PCFT Learning Disability Care Hub are committed to supporting student nurses build upon their experience and skills through the offer of ongoing employment. Newly qualified nurses will be offered the opportunity to embed and extend existing skills through a board range of clinical opportunities coupled a commitment to their continuing professional development.
The post-holder will work closely with a range of clinical teams with opportunities being available across multiple localities.
Main duties of the job
Service/Ward/Department Summary: The available posts are based within Community Learning Disability Team's , all of which are multidisciplinary working with individuals with a mild, moderate or severe learning disability. We deliver high quality health and social care assessments and interventions to people with complex and challenging needs. The teams comprise of community nurses, social workers, physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, psychologists, care coordinators, assistant practitioners and psychiatry input.
Main duties of the job Role Summary: Delivery of evidence based health and behavioural assessments and interventions to adults with learning disabilities who have complex and challenging needs. You will be working in a multi-disciplinary context with the expectation to be person centred, creative and innovative in meeting the health needs of individuals whilst offering support to families and carers. There will be the opportunity to work across a range of settings and with a range of provider services. There are regular opportunities for continuing professional development and peer supervision with other Community Nurses working in the Care Hub. We are eager to support continual professional development and access to additional training opportunities.
