The post holder will be part of an improving Access to Psychological therapy (IAPT) service and will provide high intensity interventions with Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) to clients referred to the Healthy Minds service who present with a mild to moderate depression. The post holder will work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and should be committed to equal opportunities Main Duties and Responsibilities
The postholder will be expected to work autonomously and within professional guidelines within the remit of the Tameside and Glossop Healthy Minds Operational policy.
Main duties of the job
The Tameside and Glossop Healthy Minds Team are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed qualified Interpersonal Psychotherapist (IPT) to join our highly successful, friendly and supportive team. For the role, you must have a registered qualification in one of the following - Nursing, Social Work, Occupational therapy, arts therapy or a psychological therapy plus a post graduate qualification training in IPT in order to provide high quality specialist interpersonal therapy to people with common mental health problems.
The successful candidate will join a well-established IAPT team including Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners, Cognitive Behavioural Therapists and Counsellors. The role is both demanding and rewarding; providing psychological interventions to people with mild to moderate common mental health problems in primary care using a range of modalities including one to one, telephone and group work.
You will need to be motivated and organised with excellent interpersonal skills. Good written and communication skills need to be of a high standard along with the ability to work flexibly when the need arises.
