We hope that you will join us as our Band 7 Apprentice Multi Professional Advance Practitioner, supporting the delivery of the new Intensive Therapeutic Short Break Service (ITSBS) across the Pennine Care footprint.
This a senior role for a Community Registered Nurse - Learning Disability. You will, complete an Advanced Clinical Practitioner Masters Apprenticeship with Manchester Metropolitan University, one day per week over three years, beginning in January 2023; and as part of this will complete their Non-Medical Prescribing Qualification. Upon completion of the course the successful applicant will become a qualified Advanced Clinical Practitioner and will be awarded an 8a salary, and a role within the Intensive Therapeutic Short Breaks Service supporting the Consultant Lead, development and ongoing service delivery.
Your will form part of this new multiagency team consisting of clinical psychology, learning disability nursing, speech therapy, occupational therapy and support workers. The Intensive Therapeutic Short Break Service sits alongside the Community Learning Disability and Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) across the footprint, consisting of community learning disability nursing, clinical psychology and psychiatry
Main duties of the job
The team will be working with a small number of children and young people who have severe learning disabilities and who have been identified as having complex needs including autism and/or behaviour that challenges, that require intensive support. Working alongside the local respite and short breaks services, the Intensive Therapeutic Short Break Service will work together to create, instigate and support person centred positive behaviour support plans with the aim of improving the quality of life for this group of children and young people and reduce any restrictions or restraints (in accordance with NICE guidance).

In the apprenticeship role, there are flexible units which will be tailored to the needs of the service alongside practical learning through shadowing other Advanced Clinical Practitioners and other services. You will support the consultant lead with the mobilisation of this model across our five localities, linking to the dynamic risk register and working alongside families.
