Acute Lead Clinical Psychologist
The post holder will be responsible for the promotion and management of a high quality psychology service across the Acute Care Pathway including inpatient, Home Treatment, Access and Liaison services within Tameside & Glossop Borough.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide direct face-to-face clinical sessions and support the psychosocial intervention work of colleagues via the provision of supervision, formulations, consultation and training. The post-holder will have a key role in supporting further development of personal recovery-focused and trauma informed care approach across the service. A key function of the role will be to support staff in the acute care pathway to develop a psychological understanding and context for service users and carers. Operating in an integrated and inclusive style you will work closely with both ward-based staff and the MDTs to support the development of individual care planning. The post holder will propose and implement evidence-based practice, utilising research skills for audit and service developments. You will be part of an established Secondary Care Psychological Therapy Service that has good links to Doctoral Courses and other psychological therapists.

Education and Qualifications
Essential
- Current registration as a clinical psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council.
- Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology,(or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS.
Desirable
- Completion of further post qualification training within psychological therapies (e.g. DBT, CBT, CAT, CFT,MBT etc.).
