Main duties of the job
In 2008 Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust opened its first Adolescent Acute In-patient service for 13 - 18 year olds (the Hope Unit), which operates on a 4-6 weeks care pathway providing assessment and acute treatment. Building on the success of this unit the CAMHS Directorate within Pennine Care extended its service model by opening a further 10 bedded unit on the same site at Fairfield General Hospital, Bury in September 2010 for young people, up to the age of 18, who will require a flexible and responsive service for longer-term in-patient assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for a range of co-occurring mental health needs (the Horizon Unit).
Both units comprise of a full Multi Disciplinary Team where everyone plays a key role in its development and success. The units were recently rated 'Outstanding' by the CQC and hold current QNIC (Quality Network for Inpatient CAMHS) accreditation status. We are part of the Greater Manchester Lead Provider Collaborative and work closely with community CAMHS, eating disorder and allied services. We are also host to a well-established young people and carers' council, 'Moving Forward'.

- Doctorate level training in clinical psychology, including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical, psychometrics, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology as accredited by the BPS. Or a post-graduate doctorate in clinical psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) Statement of equivalence
- HCPC registered as a Practitioner Psychologist
- Undertaken post qualification further training and qualifications in specific therapeutic models (e.g. CBT, DBT, CAT, psychoanalytic psychodynamic therapies)
- Formal training in the supervision of trainee psychologists

- Experience of working as a qualified clinical psychologist with significant post qualification experience with children's mental health services
