Job summary
Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to make a full time appointment for a consultant psychiatrist to work in the well-established Mental Health Liaison Team based at the Royal Oldham Hospital. This is a substantive appointment. The appointee will have a lead role in consolidating the developments that have occurred within this service recently helping the service continue to develop in order to meet the 'Core 24' standards defined by the Department of Health.

The out of hours on call frequency is low (1 in 30) with full second tier cover and 1 day off afterwards.

Role Summary:
The post holder will join the existing consultant liaison psychiatrists and liaison mental health team with the aim of improving the standard of care provided to acute Trust patients. There will be close links with the liaison mental health developments across both Pennine Care and Greater Manchester.
This is an exciting time to join the Trust and there are opportunities to contribute to the organisations' development including service redesign involving more integrated models of person centred care for our local community. Oldham has a very strong teaching commitment and the post holder will be expected to contribute to the teaching of both mental health and non-mental health staff. There are close links to ongoing research projects within the service and academic links are encouraged.
