The post holder will commit to completing the Advanced Clinical Practitioner integrated degree/masters' apprenticeship qualification whilst managing a caseload of complex cases This apprenticeship will be undertaken in collaboration with an approved training provider and includes both classroom sessions as well as work- based assessment within the clinical environment. Apprentices complete a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate their learning and skills in practice.
The post holder will be responsible for the provision of advanced mental health practice within the service location they are based within. They will apply their advanced expertise in a range of care settings including both first contact and on-going care delivery. They will work across traditional boundaries providing comprehensive assessment and management of service users and families with a range of mental health needs. The post holder will work as an autonomous practitioner, providing clinical assessment and treatment to a diverse group of service users requiring either crisis or ongoing care. The post holder will demonstrate a highly developed, advanced and expert knowledge, in depth experience and clinical skills within the domain of mental health services. A highly visible profile is expected, in order to provide clinical and professional leadership, promoting advanced practice, education to others, research activity and publication.

About us
We are looking for a practitioner with a passion for learning who wants to join our Psychiatric Intensive Care team on our exciting journey to develop our services. This post is newly funded within our services and aims to develop Advanced Clinical Practice within our Psychiatric intensive Care Units.
You will study on the integrated degree/ master's programme alongside your clinical role to develop your skills in Advanced Clinical Practice. In your role as a trainee ACP you will undertake a range of complex assessments including physical health examinations, formulations and management plans. You will provide consultation and advice to other professionals and deliver training and supervision of junior staff and students across all disciplines. You will contribute to quality improvement through engagement with research, audit and specific projects in accordance with trust strategy. You will participate and contribute to the trusts Inter-Professional Learning agenda. Supervision will be provided by a dedicated medical supervisor and you will attend the trust ACP Forum for additional peer support.
IMPORTANT Information: This is a 36-month course that will require regular and committed attendance at university throughout its duration; alongside considerable private study, with supervision from a dedicated medical assessor. You will be required to undertake formal examinations and submit a portfolio of learning for the course.
