Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Principal Clinical Psychologist join our Psychiatric Intensive Care Units (PICU) within the Rehabilitation and High Support Care Hub and work as part of our senior leadership team. Our Rehabilitation and High Support Care Hub, part of the Trust's Specialist Services Network, provides low secure care for men, a range of rehabilitation services for both men and women, along with PICU services. An opportunity has arisen for a Principal Clinical Psychologist to join our PICU team - this comes at an exciting time, as our team is expanding and will soon be moving from our current unit, situated at Stepping Hill Hospital, Stockport to a new ten bedded unit at Tameside .Our team provides short-term intensive assessment, treatment, and support to service users, who maybe experiencing Mental Health crisis, and often present with a variety of complex mental health needs. To maximize patient recovery, the teams will be working in a trauma informed way and utilizing the RAID model of care. Our aim is to work in the least restrictive way as possible whilst maintaining service user safety. We are keen to expand our MDT in support of these developments and have exiting opportunities in Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Medical, Social Work, and Pharmacy. Upon joining our team, we will ensure that successful candidates undertake both mandatory and bespoke training, to fully equip them with the skills required to work within PICU environments.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for the promotion and management of a high quality psychology service across both PICU services and will be supported by an assistant psychologist. The post holder will provide direct face-to-face clinical sessions and support the psychosocial intervention work of colleagues via the provision of supervision, consultation and training. The post-holder will lead on embedding and evaluating a trauma informed care approach across the service and support the implementation and supervision of the RAID model of care.
