Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to employ five Consultant Clinical Psychologists to help develop and lead specialist personality disorder pathways across the boroughs of Stockport, Tameside & Glossop, Heywood Middleton & Rochdale, Oldham & Bury.
These are new key roles to support the transformation of community mental health services in line with the ambitions of the Long Term Plan.
The five posts will each be based within community mental health services within a specific borough. Post holders will work towards developing pathways and networks between existing services for adults with complex emotional and relational needs and/or a diagnosis of personality disorder as well as contributing to the development of new service provision.
We are hoping to hold interviews on the 2nd and 3rd November
Main duties of the job
The post holders will:
- take a strategic clinical lead within the borough for policy /service developments in relation to the provision of services for adults (including older adults) with complex emotional and relational needs and/or a diagnosis of personality disorder
- provide expert leadership and supervision to a range of MDT colleagues across relevant service areas including inpatients, community and specialist services.
- support the Trust Lead for Personality Disorder at a GM level and will contribute to the strategic development of services for people with complex emotional and relational needs
- take a lead in the development of multi agency leadership teams within the locality which will comprise experts by experience, experts by occupation, carers and other stakeholders in order to develop pathways and networks
- work alongside existing networks to develop the service user involvement schemes for people with complex emotional and relational needs within PCFT.
- carry a small specialised clinical case load and will take a lead on the development and provision of specific psychotherapeutic programmes for people with complex emotional and relational needs including Structured Clinical Management.

- Doctorate Clinical Psychology degree, or pre 1996 qualified, a Masters Clinical Psychology degree with evidence of post qualification Doctorate level equivalent CPD, clinical and research knowledge and experience
- Eligible to be a member of the British Psychological Society.
- Registered with the HCPC as a Practitioner Psychologist.
- Post graduate qualification in a psychological therapy approach
- Evidence of post qualification training in psychological therapies for personality disorder.
- Evidence of substantial continued professional development

- Experience and track record in senior clinical leadership within psychological therapy services.
- Significant post qualification experience of delivering evidencebased interventions to people with a diagnosis of personality disorder or people who present with complex emotional and relational needs and their families: e.g. DBT, SCM, MBT
- Significant post qualification experience of supervising others including psychological therapists and other professions in the delivery of evidence based psychological therapies.
