An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Nurse to work within the Cambridge CAMHS Neurodevelopmental Team.
We work with children and young people with moderate to severe mental health disorders with comorbid ASD, LD and ADHD, providing comprehensive assessment and intervention. This role would mainly work within the ADHD pathway, however there will also be opportunities for development in other pathways. We are looking for an individual who is interested and passionate about working with young people in a CAMHS setting. We provide neurodevelopmental assessments and post-diagnostic support to young people and their families, including ADHD medication prescribing and monitoring, and psychoeducation.You will receive clinical supervision relevant to your role. We have a monthly CPD programme and regular MDT reflective meetings. You will join a supportive team who are passionate about making a difference to young people and their families.

Main duties of the job
o To provide an evidence-based therapy service to children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental disorders such as Autism, ADHD and Learning Disabilities in the Neurodevelopmental Service CAMHS which is part of the Children, Young People and Families Directorate in CPFT.o Patients will be managed on a community basis, providing assessment of neurodevelopmental disorders and/or comorbid mental health disorder and evidence-based therapy.o At the same time as offering advice and consultation on patient's mental health care to colleagues and partner agencies and to other non-professional carers.o To work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team's and Trust's policies and procedures.

To participate in the planning and delivery of evidence-based therapeutic programmes e.g. Positive Behaviour Support, CBT and Parenting programmes on both an individual and group basis to children and young people and their families. To develop formulations of presenting problems or situations that integrate information from assessments within a coherent framework that draws upon mental health theory and evidence which incorporates developmental, interpersonal, societal, cultural and biological factors. To evaluate and make treatment decisions in collaboration with the Multidisciplinary Team.
