Job summary

Following progress within the Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) team in CPFT, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Registered Nurse/AHP individual with keen interest in infection prevention and control to join our team. It is an opportunity to make a real difference to patient safety and quality care service delivery through infection prevention and control specialist role.

We are looking to appoint two part-time Band 6 Registered Nurse/Allied Healthcare Professional or 1 full time staff member, to work alongside members of the existing small team at each side of the county (Cambridge and Peterborough). Candidates should indicate preference for site and work contract hours on their application form.

Main duties of the job

The infection control practitioner/ Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) will ensure high standard of evidenced based care are provided in all aspect of infection prevention and control in the trust.

The post holder will be responsible for monitoring and acting upon standards of Infection Prevention and Control practices that fall below the acceptable standards and legislative responsibilities.

This post is central to the delivery of clinically based support, education and training on IPC matters throughout the Trust.

Working alongside senior IPC Nurses the post holder will contribute to development and embedding of evidence based IPC practices in all clinical services within the Trust( inpatient and community). The post holder will contribute to the multidisciplinary clinical assessment of patients in all areas of the Trust in relation to IPC.

Provide IPaC clinical leadership to colleagues within the trust to ensure the safe delivery of patient centred care. Participate in and promote close links with all clinical teams and other agencies to develop effective care plan and delivery of IPC agenda .
