An exciting opportunity has arisen with Mulberry 1, Acute Assessment Unit at Fulbourn Hospital. Are you wanting an exciting challenge? We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual who has excellent communication and interpersonal skills, who is flexible and organised to join our team as a Ward Housekeeper.
All general housekeeping duties will be required within a mental health inpatient environment. The successful candidate will work alongside the multidisciplinary team, comprising of Registered Nurses, Health Care Assistants, Therapy team and Ward Manager. You will also be able to work independently to organise daily tasks and priorities, whilst upholding the trust values and behaviours.
As a ward housekeeper you can make a real difference to the patients experience in hospital by providing support and a friendly face to patients during their stay.
The post involves shift patterns, Monday to Sunday and bank holidays.
Main duties of the job
The ward housekeeper is a vital role within the Treatment ward setting, as well as being part of a wider team that ensure each patient has a good experience.
The role will involve:
- To support the ward manager in the day to day running of the ward, together with specified tasks to meet individual patient needs as determined by the Ward Manager/Deputy Ward Manager or Nurse in Charge
- To be responsible for general housekeeping duties within the ward
- To work closely with contractors and support services and monitor quality standards and rectify deficiencies in liaison with the ward manager

To receive, welcome and guide visitors on the ward, liaising with other staff as appropriate.
To assist in monitoring and maintaining cleaning standards on the ward.
To carry out spot checks on environmental standards.
