Job summary

Are you an enthusiastic business partner looking for a senior role to make a difference in mental health, specialist and community services? If so, then we have a great opportunity to provide integrated finance leadership for Adult & Specialist Mental Health, and Children, Young People & Families Clinical Directorates.

You will be a member of the Directorate Management Teams, proactively providing financial leadership and information in an embedded way.

Main duties of the job

To provide integrated finance leadership for Adult & Specialist Mental Health, Children, Young People & Families Clinical Directorates. Providing intelligent, informed and expert financial advice, guidance and clear analytical information on strategic opportunities, challenging assumptions and beliefs to ensure robust financial forecasts and nurturing a culture of considered investment across the organisation.

As part of the Finance Department's Senior Management Team, you will provide professional supervision, support and management to directly accountable staff, as well as contribute to the culture and development of the wider very friendly team.

Post holder will be required to work from Directorate Offices 1-2 days per week, and in Kingfisher House with the Finance Department at least 1 day per week, with remainder at home.

Education and Qualifications

Essential

  • CCAB (Consultancy Committee of Accountancy Bodies) Qualification or CIMA
  • First Degree with a minimum 2.2 classification or equivalent level of knowledge
  • Post qualification continued professional development.

Experience

Essential

  • Senior leadership experience in a large complex organisation in the public or healthcare sector
  • Experience of engaging with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Extensive experience of successfully leading delivery of priorities/outcomes in a complex environment.

Desirable

  • Senior leadership experience in an NHS provider organisation.

Skills and Abilites

Essential

  • Ability to analyse and interpret information to assess issues, anticipate problems and provide workable solutions.
  • Ability to build relationships and within the Trust, local NHS economy and partner organisations.
  • Excellent attention to detail combined with the ability to extract key messages from complex numerical and written data.

Knowledge

Essential

  • Solid knowledge of financial and accounting procedures including current legislation and NHS accounting policies.

Desirable

  • Understanding of the economic, financial, and organisational complexities of the NHS, Local Government and Social Care
