An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Family and Systemic Psychotherapist to join the Core CAMHS team in Cambridge. You will form part of the leadership team, and work with young people with moderate to several mental health conditions and their families.
The role involves assessment and intervention work, both with generic mental health interventions and specific family therapy work (including running the Family Therapy Clinic). You will join a motivated and hardworking team who are passionate about supporting young people and families.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with children, young people and their families in a mental health setting and will display effective communication skills to excel in a clinical leadership role. The role involves supporting and supervising junior staff and providing evidence-based assessment and treatment for complex cases. The post-holder will have interest in service improvement and development.

Main duties of the job
To provide a qualified highly specialist systemic family therapy service to clients of Cambridgeshire Community CAMHS across all sectors of care. This post provides a systemic overview of the family approach to the treatment of complex mental health disorders.
The post-holder will be responsible for co-ordinating, developing and delivering a variety of family and systemic interventions. These interventions are highly specialised, reflecting an expectation that the service will continue to develop innovative practices that are based on collaboration between clinicians, service users and carers, and commissioners of the service. The post holder will be responsible for this process by researching new practices, understanding and applying evidence-based approaches both in relation to family treatments and in the involvement of service users and carers.
The post-holder will be expected to offer advice and consultation on clients' care to all colleagues and to other, non-professional carers, working autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures. The post does not have any budgetary responsibilities.
The post-holder will be responsible for providing supervision for colleagues who may be using systemic practice, and when requested, to offer supervision to other family therapist in the Trust.
