Job summary

We are looking to recruit 1 full time enthusiastic and motivated Community Mental Health Practitioner (CPN/OT/Social Worker) for our Cambridge (south) base.

Perinatal Mental Health experience is not essential as training opportunities are available. This is a fixed term contract for 12 months to provide cover for maternity leave.

We are a multidisciplinary team, and we work to ensure that women with severe or complex mental health conditions who are planning pregnancy, pregnant or have a child under one, receive high quality, evidence-based specialist advice, assessment and interventions.

We provide specialist advice, consultation, liaison, and education to professionals who work with women contemplating pregnancy and during the perinatal period.

This is an exciting development opportunity for a Community Mental Health Practitioner interested in perinatal mental health, wishing to develop specialist knowledge and practice in this rewarding field.

Please note for this role you will be required to travel independently around the county meeting strict time deadlines. You will need to hold a full UK driving licence* and have use of a vehicle. You cannot usepublic transport for this role as this is not a reliable form of transport and will not allow you to meet service needs. Main duties of the job

The post holder will work as part of our Perinatal Mental Health Service to ensure that women with severe or complex mental health conditions who are planning pregnancy, pregnant or have a child under one, receive high quality, evidence-based specialist advice, assessment and interventions.

To ensure the provision of specialist advice, consultation, liaison and education to professionals who work with women contemplating pregnancy and during the perinatal period.

We significantly invest in our staff to foster expertise in our team providing specialist perinatal training. Successful candidates will demonstrate knowledge and interest in mental health in the perinatal period together with knowledge of child and adult safeguarding practice. Good communication, collaborative partnership working, time management and planning skills are essential. Some previous experience of working with this group would be an advantage but not essential.
