Job summary

CAMEO operates across our Foundation Trust via two established bases in Cambridge and Peterborough. This post will be located in the dynamic and multi-cultural city of Cambridge.

We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic Band 5 preceptorship Care Coordinators: Nurses, Social Workers or Occupational Therapists, including newly qualified professionals.

The practitioner will provide specialist advice, assess, plan and implement care to a designated caseload whilst working at all times to promote the safety and wellbeing of service users and their families/carers.

The individual must be compassionate, committed and have good working knowledge of psychosis. If you are passionate about the values that underpin EI work and in supporting service users throughout their recovery journey's, then this is the role for you

Main duties of the job

To be responsible for the assessment of newly referred adults who may be undergoing their first psychotic episode. To work with diagnostic uncertainty, providing ongoing comprehensive assessment and outcome monitoring of all caseload service users.

To provide on-going care co-ordination within the CPA framework of a designated caseload of service users who are experiencing their first episode of psychosis. To ensure that the Trust and Social Services CPA and Care Management protocols are followed and standards met.

To ensure all interventions are age appropriate and that care is sensitive to the cultural needs of ethnic minority service users.

To provide low intensity CBT and Mindfulness interventions under supervision. To provide psychoeducation to services users.

Essential

  • NMC registration.
  • Registered Nurse Mental Health (RNMH)

Desirable

  • Evidence of continued training and professional development
  • Evidence of training appropriate to adult mental health care.

Experience

  • Willingness to undertake Preceptorship program (for newly qualified RMN).
  • Completion of nurse training program
  • Demonstrate knowledge of working with people experiencing psychosis
  • Demonstrate knowledge of working with service users experiencing a crisis related to their mental health.

Desirable

  • Evidence of continuing professional practice within a mental health setting
  • Experience of managing workload and ability to prioritise
  • Experience of working with adult service users, their families and carers
  • Experience of care co- ordination
  • Lived experience of mental health
