Job summary

Fixed Term - 12 month contract

We are looking for a passionate and autonomous Clinical Lead or Senior Clinician to join our Neurodevelopmental CAMHS team in Cambridge. The role would involve working with young people with a neurodevelopmental diagnosis and co-morbid mental health difficulties.

We welcome all professional backgrounds who have had experience working within a CAMHS or mental health setting including Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Arts Therapists, Social Work and Therapies.

There are opportunities to deliver both generic, plus profession specific interventions. There are great CPD opportunities within the team, including potential to be trained in delivery of ADOS assessments.

Main duties of the job

Working within the CAMHS South Neurodevelopmental Team in Cambridge, this post allows the post holder an exciting opportunity to provide a specialist service to children and adolescents and their families/carers with a wide spectrum of mental health, developmental and psychological difficulties.

The post holder will provide specialist clinical assessments and interventions for children and their families/carers.

1. To collaborate with the Single Point of Access Team (SPA) effectively to improve access to the service.2. Provide clinical leadership to colleagues across all areas of the team.3. Identify levels of clinical risk and prioritise accordingly and provide advice and leadership to staff.4. Provide comprehensive and collaborative assessment to children, young people and families.5. Provide collaborative care plans and effective evidence-based intervention to children, young people and families. This includes work specifically for the more complex case presentation.6. Support, promote and further develop an assessment and treatment approach.7. To deliver medication review clinics for a range of stimulant medication, such at methylphenidate.8. Provide clinical / professional supervision, and where appropriate, operational supervision, to staff in the team.9. Undertake rostered on-call duties on weekdays and weekends (9am-5pm), providing mental health risk assessment and care plans to children and young people presenting in crisis.10. Support, promote and further develop the use of clinical outcome measures within the team.11. Cultivate positive and collaborative relationships with related pathways, teams and services, in particular the neuro-developmental and eating disorders pathways, the substance use service (CASUS), the Single Point of Access Team (SPA), the Intensive Support Team (IST), acute and community paediatrics and other child health services, Early Help services, emotional help & wellbeing services, schools, social care and the First Response Service (FRS).12. Support and promote high quality record keeping, including care plan audit and activity recording.13. Provide a leadership role alongside the Team Manager and other senior colleagues to monitor and report on activity, clinical capacity, service user feedback, compliance on supervision recording and appraisals, and compliance with mandatory training.

Essential
