Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a B6 Community Psychiatric Nurse, within our Intensive Intervention Risk Management Service ( IIRMS) and Offender Personality Disorder Community (OPD) Pathway.

The IIRMS Service is a community based intensive intervention and risk management service for high-risk adult men and women likely to have personality disorder. The service is a partnership between CPFT and the National Probation Service (NPS).

The OPD service supports people with traits of personality disorder and their probation officers to work together to reach their goals through the use of psychologically informed consultations and formulations.

The post holder will be a Community Psychiatric Nurse working autonomously as a member of the multidisciplinary team.

You will be joining a team of experienced professionals - psychologists and probation officers - who all share a passion and drive for delivering high quality care.

The service will run 5 days per week, 9 am to 5 pm

Main duties of the job

To provide specialist community nursing input to a new Intensive Integrated Risk Management Service (IIRMS) and Mental Health Wellness Clinic for offenders within the National Probation Service bases. The post holder will be able to request which probation site/s they work at; Cambridge, Huntingdon, Peterborough, Peterborough Approved Premises.

The post holder will provide face to face holistic mental health assessments for offenders who may have primary or secondary mental health needs. They will also provide low intensity / primary care level mental health evidenced based interventions including psychoeducation and guided self help.

The post holder will liaise with Mental Health In-Reach teams in local prisons.

The post holder will engage in intensive Out-Reach community work where appropriate, coordinating groups and assist with integration into community with provision of other services.

They will refer to secondary mental health services or partner agencies as appropriate or give advice on self-referrals.

The post holder will provide advice and guidance on the management of complex mental health cases to Offender Managers.
