Job summary

A vacancy has become available for a band 6 speech and language therapist to work in the community CPFT Speech and Language Therapy Team. The post holder will work in the East of the County alongside colleagues, providing input to patients with acquired communication and swallowing difficulties.

The successful applicant will join a friendly, innovative team of therapists and clinical assistants . The team meet regularly for meetings and the post holder will receive regular line management and clinical supervision . The service currently holds two clinical days a year and there are opportunities for training and development within the team .

Part time or full time hours will be considered.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work independently, providing speech and language therapy input to patients on an outpatient and domiciliary basis and input to the community hospital wards, providing a high standard of quality clinical care.

The post will involve working with patients with communication impairment, dysphagia and could also include some voice work.

To provide specialist advice to all members of the multi-disciplinary team, service users and appropriate others, of changes involving current care plans, patients progress and other relevant matters that pertain to the care of the patient.6. To work with clinical assistants within the team delegating work in line with clinical competencies and providing clinical supervision and support for assistants.

Essential

  • Degree or equivalent in SLT
  • Post graduate dysphagia trained and fully independent in dysphagia management

Desirable

  • Evidence of post grad short specialist course

Experience
