Job summary

Due to our service expanding we have one full time vacancy for an Occupational therapist. This position is for our North Hub covering Peterborough / Huntingdon / Wisbech team (North base).

This is an exciting development opportunity for an Occupational therapist interested in perinatal mental health, wishing to develop specialist knowledge and practice in this rewarding field. Our service works to ensure that women with severe or complex mental health conditions who are planning pregnancy, pregnant or have a child under one, receive high quality, evidence-based specialist advice, assessment, and interventions.

We provide specialist advice, consultation, liaison, and education to professionals who work with women contemplating pregnancy and during the perinatal period. We significantly invest in our Occupational therapists to foster expertise in our team providing specialist perinatal training. Successful candidates will demonstrate knowledge and interest in mental health in the perinatal period together with knowledge of child and adult safeguarding practice.

Some previous experience of working with this group would be an advantage but is not essential. Our team is developing and evolving, providing support to each other through regular team meetings and CPD opportunities.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work as part of our Perinatal Mental Health Service to ensure that women with severe or complex mental health conditions who are planning pregnancy, pregnant or have a child under one, receive high quality, evidence based specialist advice, assessment and interventions.

To ensure the provision of specialist advice, consultation, liaison, and education to professionals who work with women contemplating pregnancy and during the perinatal period.

Please note for this role you will be required to travel independently around the county meeting strict time deadlines. You will need to hold a full UK driving licence* and have use of a vehicle. You cannot usepublic transport for this role as this is not a reliable form of transport and will not allow you to meet service needs.
