Occupational Therapist - Personality Disorder Community Service

Job summary

We are looking to recruit a Band 7 Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide clinical input and leadership within a specific part of the Personality Disorder treatment pathway. This post would provide valuable experience of working within a specialist team whilst using specific treatment interventions.

The post holder will oversee several staff members that may include occupational therapists, recovery coaches, support workers, peer support workers and volunteers. This clinical role will consist of psychoeducational interventions, group facilitation and development, and specialised OT assessments and treatment planning.

The Leadership role will include development and oversight of the Level 1 Psychoeducational intervention groups, volunteer roles within the service, along with potential development work looking specifically at supporting access to work/education and sustaining this in collaboration with other services.

Main duties of the job

This post will be based at our office in Cambridge but also having the ability to travel to our other bases throughout Cambridgeshire, Peterborough, Huntingdon and Wisbech.

At present there is a blended approach between office and home-based working. The service has undergone an innovative redesign and is embarking on an exciting phase of delivering a high-quality service which strives for excellence for its service users.

PDCS is part of the Exemplar project, working closely with the community and other services that serve Peterborough and Cambridgeshire. We have varied treatment pathways from short term specific time limited interventions (with a goal of engaging in group work), care management cases and interventions around risk management and wellbeing plans along with moderate term group treatment pathways.

There are a wide range of weekly working opportunities from duty team calls, facilitating groups, supporting case management, along with taking part in group reflection and supervision, training and education.
