Job summary

Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust are looking for an exceptional Band 6 Tissue Viability Nurse to join our talented and committedintegrated community team.

The role includes assessing complex patients in their home or in a nurse led clinic setting, participating in teaching and mentoring of other professionals, engaging in clinical trials. You will be required to work closely with other stakeholders.

This post will be 37.5 hours a week and countywide. If you are highly motivated, enthusiastic and feel you have the skills required to join our Tissue Viability team, we would like to hear from you.

Main duties of the job

  • To work as part of the multidisciplinary team with the aim of preventing admission, supporting early discharge and providing ongoing or shared care for patients.
  • To provide an advanced standard of clinical assessment evidence-based advice and education to individuals with tissue viability problems.
  • To provide supervision to health care professionals in relation to: prevent pressure ulcers/Moisture Associated Skin Damage (MASD) and other wounds, and use of equipment.
  • To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner with access to advice and support from senior colleagues.
  • Act as a patient advocate through the application of critical and professional knowledge and skills.
  • To organise the job role effectively with regards to clinical priorities and use of time.
  • To participate in evidence-based audit and research projects.
