The permanent posts are eligible for a £3000 New Hire Bonus. An initial payment of £1000 will be paid in the first 1 month and a final payment of £2000 will be paid 1 year after your start date. Please see attached New Hire Bonus Terms & Conditions.

We are looking to recruit enthusiastic and motivated Band 5 Mental Health Nurses/AHPs to join our Adult Inpatient Mental Health wards.

In return for your commitment and enthusiasm, working within the unique Adult 3-3-3 inpatient system will give you the opportunity to practice a full range of core mental health nursing skills and to also teach, supervise and support colleagues.

About the team: Our adult mental health inpatient ward 3-3-3 model is an innovative redesign of acute mental health inpatient care. Time-limited inpatient pathways for assessment (#3 days), treatment (#3 weeks), and recovery (#3 months) replace traditional acute wards.

Mulberry 2 is our 16-bed assessment and treatment ward in Fulbourn and our focus is on providing care which is structured, planned and meaningful in an environment which allows patients to be supported by a range of staff whose main goal is to empower and involve patients and their loved ones in care.

Main duties of the job

The ideal candidate will have a commitment to teamwork, a sense of accountability, plus an ability to work under pressure. The poster holder will provide quality evidence-based nursing advice, support and care for service users with mental and physical health needs and to their carers within a multidisciplinary setting. They will be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care, and will have a working knowledge of local, national policies and legislation which govern current service provision.

The post holder will be responsible for identifying and contributing to the training needs of junior registered and unregistered staff and ensure that issues of equality, diversity and rights are dealt with in accordance with good practice and legislation. They will ensure that effective communication pathways exist, and that they act within their sphere of responsibility, managing the shift in the absence of the Ward Manager or the designated deputy.
