Are you ready for a new challenge? Would you like to develop your current skills within CAMHS ED services?

The Phoenix would like to offer the opportunity to develop both clinical and managerial skills as a deputy ward manager. Applicants should ideally have post graduate experience.

The Phoenix Centre provides specialist treatment for young people aged between 13-18, with complex eating disorders. We offer 12 inpatient beds including a high dependency room and are at Ida Darwin.

We view eating disorders, particularly anorexia nervosa as chronic illnesses. While recovery is usual, we know this tends to take a long time. We therefore see the goal of treatment at the Phoenix Centre as helping young people improve the degree to which they can control their illness, rather than be controlled by it. This allows for more "normal" family, social and educational experiences and reduces the risk of young people being "lost" to mainstream life.

Main duties of the job

The poster holder will assist the Ward Manager / CNS in the provision of clinical leadership and to be a clinical role model to the 24-hour inpatient team. Acting on behalf of and to deputise, as directed by the Ward Manager/CNS in their absence and provide quality evidence based nursing advice, support and care for service users with mental and physical health needs and to their carers within a multidisciplinary setting.

Working in conjunction with the Ward Manager / CNS to set, maintain and audit clinical standards in adherence to local and national priorities. The post holder will be responsible for overseeing the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care within agreed parameters, and have a working knowledge of local, national policies and legislation which govern current service provision.
