Job summary

The permanent posts are eligible for a £3000 New Hire Bonus. An initial payment of £1000 will be paid in the first 1 month and a final payment of £2000 will be paid 1 year after your start date. Please see attached New Hire Bonus Terms & Conditions.

The post will be particularly attractive to anyone with a passion for ED or ASC and we would welcome their input in developing further training packages.

The Phoenix Centre provides specialist treatment for young people aged between 13-18, with complex eating disorders.

At the centre we view eating disorders, particularly anorexia nervosa as chronic illnesses. While recovery is usual, we know this tends to take a long time therefore our goal of treatment is to help young people improve the degree to which they can control their illness, rather than be controlled by it. This allows for more "normal" family, social and educational experiences and reduces the risk of young people being "lost" to mainstream life.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide quality evidence-based nursing advice, support and care for service users with mental and physical health needs and to their carers within a multidisciplinary setting. They will be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care, and will have a working knowledge of local, national policies and legislation which govern current service provision.

The post holder will be responsible for identifying and contributing to the training needs of junior registered and unregistered staff, and ensure that issues of equality, diversity and rights are dealt with in accordance with good practice and legislation. They will ensure that effective communication pathways exist, and that they act within their sphere of responsibility, managing the shift in the absence of the Ward Manager or the designated deputy.

  1. To be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the evidence based care required, including health promotion for a named service user/group ensuring it meets Trust timescales.
