As part of the Children, Young People and Families Directorate you will work as a B5 CAMHS Practitioner in a 2 year rotational/development post with possible progression to Band 6 after 2 years.

You will gain experience of working within the CAMHS Core and/or the Neurodevelopmental pathway, The Darwin (General Admission Unit) and Phoenix (Specialist Eating Disorder Unit).

We offer an induction on commencement in post and CPD programmes through the NHS Academy.

We welcome applications from staff with varying levels of experience including ward based and offer relevant supervision and education to facilitate this transition.

The ideal candidate will have a strong team work ethic, sense of accountability, accompanied by an ability to work under considerable pressure at times. This post is open to professionals with the right attributes to enhance a team.

Main duties of the job

Whilst in the community the post holder will provide high quality continuing assessments, which will entail the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care for service users and provision of support to their parents/ carers. You will manage a caseload under the supervision of a Band 6 or above Mental health nurse/practitioner. This is likely to take place in a variety of settings.

Whilst working on the wards will gain experience with initial assessment and the ongoing therapeutic programme offered to young people. You will work alongside the multidisciplinary team, supporting patients with various presentations to gain insight into working on both the GAU and specialist inpatient unit for young people with eating disorders.
