Job summary

Are you interested in making a difference to the lives of children and young people with neurological disability? If yes, then this is the job for you.

We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, friendly, and pro-active physiotherapist who is passionate about delivering high quality care to children and young people from 0 to 19 yrs. of age in Peterborough area in clinics, mainstream, and special schools and within homes. We are a team of paediatric physiotherapists who work jointly with multi-disciplinary team consisting of occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, community paediatricians, community nurses, health visitors, child psychologists etc. You will enjoy the work as it is varied, interesting and fulfilling.

Depending on your skills and experience, you could be offered either a B5 developmental post with career progression to B6 or could be directly employed as a B6. This post is also open for Return to Practice candidates as we will support you with your registration.

Main duties of the job

Our friendly and supportive department provides excellent opportunities to develop your skills and knowledge so that you continuously improve and deliver the best possible care. You will have the opportunity to attend our monthly multi-disciplinary in-service training along with regular supervision, peer support and joint working with senior therapists for complex cases.

There is plenty of opportunity for joint working also with other professionals and to learn from their knowledge and experience. Opportunities are available to spend time within multi-disciplinary assessment clinics, Botox clinic, Orthotics clinic, CPIP & Postural Management clinic and 1:1 session with senior therapists within school, nursery and home settings. We have a strong commitment to CPD and internal as well as external training opportunities are available.

To provide comprehensive, holistic physiotherapy assessment and treatment for children/young people living in the community or at school (mainstream and specialist) in the Peterborough area aged between 0-19 years with neuro-developmental physical disabilities.
To be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of your own work, including the management of patients in your care as well as other patient related and professional demands.
To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner.
To plan & organize your own routine workload following specific pathways and the service specification.
To formulate and deliver an individualised physiotherapy programme utilising a wide range of treatment skills and a sound knowledge of evidence-based practice.
To produce comprehensive patient related reports for other disciplines or agencies relating to assessment findings and or treatment/management outcomes.

Registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) - Licence to practice or we will support a Return to Practice candidate until they get HCPC registration.
