Job summary

Are you ready for a new challenge? Would you like to develop your current skills within CAMHS ED services?

The Phoenix Centre provides specialist treatment for young people aged between 13-18, with complex eating disorders. We offer 12 inpatient beds including a high dependency room and are at Ida Darwin.

We view eating disorders, particularly anorexia nervosa as chronic illnesses. While recovery is usual, we know this tends to take a long time. We therefore see the goal of treatment at the Phoenix Centre as helping young people improve the degree to which they can control their illness, rather than be controlled by it. This allows for more "normal" family, social and educational experiences and reduces the risk of young people being "lost" to mainstream life.

We are looking for highly motivated staff who wish to progress in their career and develop the specialised skills necessary to support the young people under our care.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work as a member of the Multi-Disciplinary Team within the Tier 4 in-patient environment managing a caseload of adolescents who have a range of Mental Health needs.

The post holder will also be expected to provide advice and teaching within their area of expertise. They will also be expected to promote and develop the role of the Occupational Therapist and develop, together with the team, a specific programme to support treatment of Young People with Eating Disorders.
