Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Chief Nurse Division at UCLH as a Violence Prevention and Reduction (VPR) Trainer at a transformational time in the development of our Trust-wide VPR programme.
This role is ideal for an experienced professional who is passionate about keeping staff and patients safe, promoting trauma-informed, person-centred care, and reducing violence and aggression through prevention, de-escalation and least-restrictive practice.
Reporting to the VPR Lead Trainer, you will deliver high-quality, classroom-based training, including de-escalation, assault avoidance, breakaway and physical intervention skills, in line with Restraint Reduction Network (RRN) Standards. You will play a key role in creating psychologically safe learning environments and influencing positive cultural change across the organisation.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for previous experience delivering PMVA (prevention and management of violence and aggression) or RRN certified training, with demonstrable experience teaching or facilitating learning for clinical staff within a healthcare setting. You will be an excellent communicator with strong facilitation skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with clinical and non-clinical colleagues.
This is a full-time role, training on-site Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week. Experience working clinically in an acute or mental health setting is desirable, with a good understanding of healthcare in acute hospital trusts. You must hold, or be willing to work towards, a Level 3 Award in Education and Training. Education, training and development support will be provided to ensure you are able to deliver high-quality, up-to-date training in line with RRN Standards.
