Job summary
University College London Hospital NHS Trust (UCLH) is looking for a qualified and enthusiastic applicant for the post of senior tier 2 resident (ST7-8 OR post CCT) in neonatal medicine. This is an exciting opportunity to gain tertiary neonatal intensive care experience working in the heart of central London at UCLH. This appointment is for 12 months, working in the neonatal intensive care unit at UCLH.
The successful candidate will join a well-established clinical, academic and multidisciplinary neonatal team with an international reputation for delivering excellent in neonatal care, education and research. Main duties of the job
This role provides substantial senior level clinical experience and is designed to support progression towards consultant practice. Senior residents will develop advanced skills in clinical leadership, decision making and service management while working closely with consultants and the wider multi-disciplinary team. during shift work, the post holder will undertake responsibilities consistent with acting as the senior clinical decision maker and chief doctor on the shift, ensuring safe, effective and coordinated patient care while supporting junior staff and collaborating closely with the MDT. This position provides excellent preparation for future senior leadership roles within neonatal medicine.

We work in partnership with our UCLH fetal medicine unit, a regional, national and international referral centre for complex pregnancies, and the world-renowned Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH), specialist paediatric hospital, to collaboratively care for babies with complex conditions.
