Job summary

The National Travel Health Network and Centre (NaTHNaC) are recruiting a highly motivated, experienced Travel Health Nurse to join their small, dedicated team, working together to improve standards for travel health in the United Kingdom. NaTHNaC was established in 2002 with the overall remit of Protecting the Health of British Travellers. NaTHNaC is commissioned by the UK Health Security Agency and hosted by University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH); we also work in partnership with our other network founders Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM), London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) and the Hospital for Tropical Diseases (HTD). The network partners provide strategic guidance to NaTHNaC through representation on a Technical Advisory Group.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work with members of the multi-professional team and provide up-to-date, accurate, consistent and appropriate advice and support to health professionals across the UK on complex issues in travel health and respond to global health events that may impact on the health of the traveller by generating information in a timely manner for the NaTHNaC website. You will be NMC Registered with a first degree or equivalent and a Diploma in Travel Health or demonstrate level 6 competencies with up-to-date knowledge of travel health issues. You will be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication skills and relevant practical experience in advising both travellers and health professionals. The work pattern/hours up to 18.5 per week will be discussed with the shortlisted candidates at the interview stage
