Job summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Paediatric Allergy Nurse Specialist to join our specialist paediatric allergy service for a period of maternity cover.

This is an excellent opportunity to work within a well-established, dynamic multidisciplinary team providing high quality, evidence-based care to child and young people with allergic conditions.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work autonomously and collaboratively to deliver a comprehensive allergy service, including nurse led clinics, eczema management, immunotherapy, and drug provocation challenges.

Main duties of the role

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

- Undertaking independent nurse led allergy clinics. Including assessment, diagnostic support, management planning, and patient education.- Leading the paediatric eczema clinic - Providing specialist advice, treatment planning, and support for families with complex eczema with the support of the referring allergy consultant.- Coordinating and delivering subcutaneous and sublingual immunotherapy service to tree pollen, grass pollen, and house dust mite. Ensuring treatment is administered safely and in line with local and national guidance.- Leading on drug provocation challenges - including specialised procedures such as administration of yellow fever vaccine.- Participating in service development, clinical governance, audit and guideline development.

  • oExperience in performing skin prick testing and / or food challenges. Knowledge of the research process
