Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced Paediatric Emergency Nurse to join one of the largest and most successful Foundation Trusts in the UK with an international reputation and a tradition of innovation. We have almost completed our development of our Emergency department where we have increased our Majors and Rapid Assessment Treatment (RAT) bays in order to improve services for our growing number of patients.

In 2018 the Paediatric and Young People's Emergency Department moved into the current foot print doubling in size. We have now 9 cubicles to see and treat our children and young people. At UCLH we are leaders in Adolescent care and this is demonstrated with in our department by having a separate Adolescent waiting room. We also have a dedicated team of Play Specialists to support the Children and Young People during their stay.So why join our team?

We have a new Development Programme that is fully funded to support and nurture your career. This includes academic courses and study days to enhance your leadership role and guide your development as an experienced Emergency Nurse.

Main duties of the job

You will be working alongside a team of band 6 and band 6.5 nurses within the Paediatric Emergency Department.

You are supported by a Band 7 Team Leader and a Band 6.5 Deputy Charge Nurse, to ensure the nursing care delivered is safe and effective. You also work closely with the clinical practice facilitator (CPF) team to support your educational and training development needs. Clinically you will develop key working relationships with the ED medical team and Paediatric medical team.
