Westmoreland Street Performance & Improvement Manager

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Surgical Specialties Division for a permanent post supporting Westmoreland Street Hospital as the Performance and Improvement Manager. The post holder will be responsible for daytime site management of UCH at Westmoreland Street, chairing the daily bed meeting and working with ward staff to allocate beds and maintain patient flow across the site, linking in with UCH Tower and other Trusts to lead in the management of patient transfers.The post holder will also be responsible for supporting service improvements across the Division to deliver safer and more efficient patient pathways. The post holder will be responsible for line managing a team of 4 ward clerks. The post holder will be expected to be on site at Westmoreland Street every day.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will:

o Enable proactive management of theatre flow to ensure patients are cared for expediently and in line with access targets and develop initiatives to maximise efficiency.o Be responsible for managing day time admissions to UCH at Westmoreland Street as site managero Lead service improvement initiatives within Westmoreland Street and help establish and monitor quality control measures to assist in the delivery of efficient patient pathways and improve the quality of reporting.o Provide robust analysis of data to support clinical teams in the delivery of change programmes to improve patient care.o Monitor compliance against key performance and waiting time targets, and making recommendations for improvements.o Work closely with the theatres service manager to ensure accurate records of activity, including cancellations and the reasons for cancellations, are maintained.o Provide training and development to staff responsible for implementing service improvement initiatives (18 week validation, nurse-led discharge etc.).
