Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Pathology Division at University College London Hospital NHS Foundation Trust for a Pathology Service ManagerWe are seeking an enthusiastic and bright individual to work in a busy, multi-disciplinary team to support the Pathology division in service delivery. You will work collaboratively to provide full administrative and patient coordination services within Pathology.The service manager will possess excellent communication skills and have the ability to work on their own as well as part of a team. Experience of working in a busy NHS environment and/or laboratory environment would be an added advantage

Main duties of the job

The Pathology Service Manager will be responsible for ensuring that services are efficiently and effectively run within the Pathology Division. This will be achieved through excellent human resource, financial and performance management, and leadership of change management to achieve improvement in process and patient outcomes.The Pathology Service Manager role will be required to work closely with other members of the Pathology management team, administrative and other clinical teams, including managers, administrators, nursing and medical staff, allied health professionals and support workers as well as liaise with a range of staff internally within the Trust and externally with

  • Degree and/or an appropriate professional qualification or equivalent.
  • Masters level qualification or equivalent specialist knowledge acquired by experience

Experience

  • Previous managerial experience in a large and complex organisation preferably within the NHS
  • Proven experience analysing and interpreting performance data
  • A proven record of success in managing change while also developing and maintaining high standards of quality.

Desirable

  • Experience of working in a busy pathology/ laboratory setting
