Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Dietitian to join our metabolic dietetic team. This role will be based at The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, part of University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, where you will be working closely with a well-established multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals specialising in Inherited Metabolic Disease (IMD).
Applicants must have comprehensive clinical experience. Experience in IMD would be advantageous.
Main duties of the job
As an integral part of the MDT, working closely with consultants, clinical nurse specialists and a clinical psychologist, the post holder will be expected to develop and enhance the metabolic dietetic service providing highly specialised advice, education and support to a complex outpatient caseload.
With a strong focus on research and education, the successful post holder will play a role in training and development of junior members of the team (including student training) with the opportunity to be involved with research. As such the right candidate must have excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of an MDT.
As a leadership role, the post holder will ensure effective day to day running of the service with duties such as caseload prioritisation, supervision, service development and audit.
