Job summary

We are looking for a responsible, enthusiastic, flexible and self motivated individual to work as part of the Radiology team in this busy Imaging department.

Duties will include making patients feel welcomed to the Imaging department and making appointments for a range of imaging examinations. You will be dealing with a variety of telephone queries and will be ensuring effective communications are maintained not only within the department but to service users internal and external to the Trust.

Main duties of the job

Successful applicants must have:-

  • Good keyboard skills and IT literate.
  • Previous experience of working with the public
  • Good customer care skills
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and self motivation
  • Experience of booking appointments

This is a demanding role which will give the successful candidate an opportunity to develop their organisational skills.

Knowledge and Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent, with Grade C or above in English and Maths.
  • Knowledge of administrative procedures, acquired through training and/or previous experience of working in an administrative environment.
  • Awareness of the requirement to maintain confidentiality, and knowledge of the Data Protection Act.

Desirable

  • NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration, Customer Service, Healthcare Support Services or equivalent qualification.

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working in a nonroutine environment, with demonstrable evidence of being able to respond to queries and deal with unpredictable situations as they arise (acquired through experience and/or training to Vocational level 3 or equivalent).
  • Experience of working in an administrative environment, with knowledge of a comprehensive range of administrative procedures.

Desirable

  • Previous NHS experience, or experience of working in a healthcare setting.
