Job summary
As a pelvic health physiotherapist working at band 7 level you will have a varied caseload of patients, working with other senior clinicians to deliver, co-ordinate and evaluate the Women's Health physiotherapy service.
You will work to the highest standards to facilitate evidence-based patient care, playing a key role in implementing, facilitating and developing physiotherapy best practice line with Local and National Guidelines.
You will be responsible for your own clinical caseload, working as an autonomous practitioner, using advanced, specialised assessment of pelvic health patients including those with highly complex presentations.
Main duties of the job
Maintain high standards of clinical work by undertaking highly skilled specialist assessments of patients, including those with highly complex presentations with gynaecological and musculoskeletal obstetric conditions and where appropriate, be able to complete internal vaginal and anorectal assessments.
Use highly specialised clinical reasoning skills, knowledge of evidence-based practice and obstetric and gynaecology expertise in determining appropriate care plan using specialist treatment skills. This can occur in situations where conflicting evidence is present.
Work closely with the MDT, providing specialised information and recommendations to them with regards to complex patient management.
Ensure compliance with our clinical governance framework and quality assurance programme by supervising, initiating and participating in evidence-based projects and to be responsible for implementing changes within designated team/areas and setting and monitoring standards of practice.
Assist the team lead with the day to day operational management of the pelvic health physiotherapy service and be able to flexibly plan and organise own caseload alongside this.
