We are seeking an experienced nurse to join our central London teaching hospital as a Band 6 Paediatric Deputy Charge Nurse in the Emergency Department.

Main duties of the job
The role of the Paediatric Deputy Charge Nurse within the Emergency Department is key to ensuring the safe care of patients attending the UCH as emergencies.
When in charge, you will be responsible for ensuring the management and supervision of the nursing staff in within the ED during your shift along with the Consultant in Charge of the department.
You will assist the Senior Nurse and Charge Nurses in leading the nursing staff in ensuring quality of care and meeting and sustaining performance against the Care Quality Indicators ( CQI's) for Emergency Services You will assist the Senior Nurse and Charge Nurses to ensure the educational needs of the ED are met.
In the event of a major incident (MAJAX) you will be responsible for assisting in the co-ordination of the ED response.
