Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Transfusion Practitioner Team at UCLH Foundation Trust. This is a 12-month fixed-term position, we are looking to appoint an experienced, dynamic nurse or biomedical scientist, with a strong interest in training. You must have significant post registration experience of blood & blood product transfusion practice, in the clinical or transfusion laboratory setting.

This position requires a flexible, confident individual who can demonstrate excellent communication & interpersonal skills. You will be expected to liaise with all levels of staff involved in the transfusion process. The ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team is essential.

Main duties of the job

This post has a Trust wide remit which includes transfusion education / training of clinical staff, risk management and clinical audit. The post holder will also be involved in the provision of transfusion advice and support the implementation of projects, designed to improve the safety of transfusion practice at UCLH.

Together with the Hospital Transfusion Team, you will be promoting awareness of the current regulatory and statutory requirements that impact on transfusion practice & support the delivery of measures to ensure compliance. Appropriate experience is required.
