Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a Specialty Trainee - General Medicine, General Practice, Palliative Medicine, Geriatric medicine/Stroke, Oncology, Haematology, Intensive Care or any Medical Specialty - to undertake a one year Out of Programme Experience position as an Improvement Fellow in End of Life Care (EOLC), starting in Oct 2025.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will contribute to the delivery of an innovative Quality Improvement programme in EOLC aiming to improve the experience of and care delivered to patients who attend UCLH in the last year of life. Proposed areas of focus include Healthcare Inequities and Personalised Care and Support Planning, including complex medical decision making around resuscitation status and treatment escalation plans and use of the Universal Care Plan (UCP). In addition they will be supported to develop their Leadership and Quality Improvement skills portfolio in preparation for taking on a consultant role, through multiple development opportunities within the Trust, North London Partners and the London region.
