Job summary
The post-holder is responsible for high-quality continuing professional development (CPD) for nurses working in Emergency Service Division (ESD) at UCLH. The post holder will lead the design and development of the CPD across nursing within ESD at UCLH, in response to ESD nursing priorities and development of new opportunities and roles to future proof workforce retention.
The post holder will also work under the direction of the Emergency Service Division Senior Matron to develop and lead ESD Nurse Education Strategy. Key areas of focus are preceptorship, rotation programme, specialist CPD education, and career pathways specific to urgent and emergency care. The post holder will work with ESD Senior Matron to develop and deliver the education strategy and coherent CPD and post-graduate career pathways.
The promotion of UCLH as a centre of excellence for nursing practice and research, fostering a culture that values staff, recognises achievement and enables career progression and succession planning.
Main duties of the job
The post holder is responsible for ensuring that the development of patient-focused clinical practice is supported via the practice development structure and its network of clinical practice facilitators (CPFs) in the delivery of excellence in nursing care and the objectives of the Nursing and Midwifery Strategy.
