Job summary
University College London Hospitals is seeking to appoint a locum 6 PA Consultant ENT surgeon maternity cover, who has a commitment to high quality patient care, innovative service models, delivery of performance targets, and excellence in education/training.
NB: 1:14 On call commitment
The post is intended to be clinic heavy to support reducing our time to first waits, it will include work off site and require flexible working. The post holder is required to be in specialist register. This post offers no fixed theatre session, however there will be opportunities to cover theatre sessions available due to leave, hence the need for flexibility.

Main duties of the job
This provisional job plan is subject to agreement and change. The NHS is moving towards 6 day working for elective activity, and there is an expectation that all new appointees have an element of Saturday working in their job plan.
The consultant's job plan is expected to comprise 6 Programmed Activities per week on average, to be carried out at the RNENT and GOSH, as well as our satellite clinics at Edgware and Whittington. The new post-holder will be expected to discuss and agree a detailed job plan including personal and professional objectives with the Clinical Director within three months of his / her start date; and the Consultant may be required to undertake a prospective diary exercise to inform this process.Of the 6 PA's, 5 will be Direct Clinical Care, including an on-call commitment of 1 in 12; and then 1 SPA. The DCC job plan follows a team based approach. The part of the job plan related to wider departmental activities, supporting professional activities and personal objectives is more individually tailored.
